Healthy Breast Diet: By Dr. Louise Tolzmann

Incorporating the following foods into your daily diet will help keep your breasts healthy to beat breast cancer.

Fruits and Vegetables

  • ORGANIC
  • 5-10 servings per day (especially veggies)
  • One (or more) servings per day of Cruciferous Vegetables:
    • broccoli
    • cauliflower
    • brussel sprouts
    • cabbage
    • radishes
    • kale
    • collards
    • bok choy
Flax Seeds
  • 2-4 Tbsp. ground flax seeds per day
Whole Grains
  • Brown rice, millet, quinoa, barley, amaranth, oats, whole rye, corn, whole meal wheat
  • Eat several servings per day
Beans/Nuts/Seeds
  • Eat several servings per day
Fish
  • Three or more times per week
  • Especially: wild salmon, trout, mackerel, halibut, sardines, cod
  • Avoid: tuna, farmed salmon, shark, shellfish
Oils
  • Reduce fats to 20% of total daily diet
  • Increase olive oil
  • Avoid saturated fats, trans-fats, partially hydrogenated fats
Dairy & Meat
  • HORMONE-FREE and/or organic & free range
  • Limit to three times per week or avoid altogether
Soy
  • ORGANIC
  • One serving per day, especially food based (tofu, soy beans) and fermented (miso, tempeh)
  • With tamoxifen, avoid or limit intake
Sugars
  • Replace white sugar with other sweeteners like Agave or Brown-Rice Syrup
